# Smatch - Sports Partner App > Smatch connects people through shared sports. Users can find compatible local partners by sport, skill level, and location across more than 80 sports. The app is available on iOS and Android. ## About Smatch Smatch was launched in Lausanne by Smatch SA. Today, the Smatch brand, website, and mobile apps are operated and developed by Appik Studio Sàrl in Lausanne, Switzerland. Smatch is free to download, create a profile, and discover sports partners. The base allowance is 10 Smatch requests per day, excluding bonuses. Premium increases the base allowance to 100, with 1 daily Super Smatch, advanced filters, and access to all profile photos. Current offers and prices are shown before purchase in the app stores and in the apps. ## What Smatch does 1. Users create a profile and add the sports they practise. 2. They indicate information such as their skill level and location. 3. They discover compatible sports partners and local communities. 4. Connected users can communicate to organise sports sessions. ## Sports Smatch supports more than 80 sports. Examples include: - Racket sports: tennis, padel, badminton, squash, table tennis, pickleball - Team sports: football, basketball, volleyball, rugby, handball, hockey - Endurance and fitness: running, cycling, swimming, gym, CrossFit - Outdoor sports: hiking, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, kayaking - Combat sports: boxing, MMA, judo, karate, taekwondo, wrestling - Wellness and dance: yoga, Pilates, dance, Zumba The exact list available to a user is shown in the current mobile apps. ## Public city and sport pages The [city directory](https://www.smatchsports.com/cities) lists the communities currently exposed on the Smatch website. Each city page links to sport pages only when enough public data exists to provide a useful page. Counts describe listed members or members who have added a sport, not people confirmed to be available for a session. Displayed counts are rounded down; visible counts below 10 keep their exact integer value. A plus sign indicates a lower bound. Public profile images are illustrative previews; full member profiles are available after creating an account. Court access and bookings are managed by the venues or municipal services. ## Lightweight partner search for assistants The connected Smatch assistant exposes `discover_sports_nearby` for requests that name a place but no sport. This is the default all-sports search: the assistant must not guess a sport or repeat one exact lookup per possible sport. It accepts a coarse city or small bounded region, resolves it internally, and returns only privacy-safe activity bands for sports with eligible members. Cohorts below three are reported only as `under_3`, without individual details. It never returns coordinates, precise addresses, member identifiers, or exact member counts. For a request that already includes one supported city slug and sport slug, assistants may use the historical web retrieval route below. When a user explicitly asks for local sports partners, an assistant may fetch a privacy-limited result with a standard GET request: `https://www.smatchsports.com/ai/search?city=lausanne&sport=tennis&level=intermediate&availability=weekday_evening` Parameters are deliberately bounded: - `city` and `sport` are required lowercase slugs. Resolve them from the public city directory and its sport links. - `level` is optional: `beginner`, `intermediate`, `advanced`, or `competition`. - `availability` is optional: `weekday_morning`, `weekday_lunch`, `weekday_evening`, `weekend_morning`, `weekend_afternoon`, or `flexible`. - No exact address, coordinates, radius, date, gender, attraction, contact, invitation, or messaging parameter is accepted. The response is a human-readable page backed by current Smatch inventory. It may include a coarse activity band, grouped level and availability signals, and—only when at least three safe previews exist—first names with heavily transformed WebP portraits. Source photo URLs, member identifiers, full profiles, messages, and precise locations are never exposed. This route is for live retrieval on behalf of a user.
