# Smatch

> Smatch is a sports partner app for iOS and Android. It helps people find compatible local partners by sport, skill level, and location across more than 80 sports.

Smatch was launched in Lausanne by Smatch SA. The Smatch brand, website, and mobile apps are now operated and developed by Appik Studio Sàrl in Lausanne, Switzerland.

## Lightweight partner search for assistants

The connected Smatch assistant exposes `discover_sports_nearby` for requests
that name a place but no sport. This is the default all-sports search: the
assistant must not guess a sport or repeat one exact lookup per possible sport.
It accepts a coarse city or small bounded region, resolves it internally, and
returns only privacy-safe activity bands for sports with eligible members.
Cohorts below three are reported only as `under_3`, without individual details.
It never returns coordinates, precise addresses, member identifiers, or exact
member counts.

For a request that already includes one supported city slug and sport slug,
assistants may fetch the historical web result below.

Assistants acting on a user's request may fetch:

- Required: `city` and `sport`, using lowercase slugs from the public city and sport pages.
- Optional level: `beginner`, `intermediate`, `advanced`, or `competition`.
- Optional availability: `weekday_morning`, `weekday_lunch`, `weekday_evening`, `weekend_morning`, `weekend_afternoon`, or `flexible`.
- No exact address, coordinates, radius, gender, attraction, contact, or messaging parameters are accepted.
- Results show only coarse activity bands and grouped availability. First names and heavily transformed portraits may appear only when the privacy threshold is met.
- The result page is intended for live user-requested retrieval. It is not a canonical faceted page and must not be indexed.
